By this mean, the rich history of this monastic borough, can be viewed, a borough built around an important Benedictine abbey-church which shelters the relics of Saint Foy since the 9th century.
From these glorious times, an incomparable artistic heritage remains, shown in part by manuscripts of first importance: the abbey-church, a true masterpiece of Romanesque art from the 11th and 12th centuries, well known for its architecture and its sculpture (tympanum of the Last Judgment and capitals), magnified by the stained-glass windows by Pierre Soulages magnifient.
