SKITTLE (
QUILLES DE 8 )
In the old times, the traditional skittle or quilles de huit was played throughout Rouergue. The balls, made with the roots of walnut trees, are less than 28cm in diameter, and weigh between 4 and 7kg. Usually, the skittles are made of beechwood, 60cm in length and 7cm in diameter, for a weight between 1 and 2kg. Nowadays, the game gathers all generations, a leisure for all or a challenging sport for the enthusiasts.
While you are visiting Aveyron or Conques's district, you will probably have the opportunity to discover this sport and, why not, try it out.
